Premature Ejaculation Defined
Premature Ejaculation is when a man ejaculates much sooner than he would prefer to do, which makes having a normal sex life very difficult for both the man and his partner.
It was defined by Masters and Johnson as being when a man cannot last before his partner is able to have an orgasm, but this is quite the vague definition at the very least.
The average lasting time for many men is less than 2 minutes, and in some more extreme cases less than one minute. When you think about this, then you can realize how this makes giving most women an orgasm quite impossible, as with most females it can take 10 - 20 minutes of stimulation through intercourse.
Interestingly enough, about half of most males will ejaculate within 2 minutes during roughly 50% of their sexual experiences. This means that clearly many men, who don't normally suffer from PE, will still have less than satisfactory sex lives simply because they cannot last any longer. The pursuit for a method that will increase stamina is something that most men would like to partake in, but are not sure where to look.
PE is so common that a slip-up will occur with just about every healthy male at least once during their life, but its more common to have reoccuring problems with a sudden finish.
Intravaginal Ejaculation Latency Time
One method that has been used to possibly diagnose premature ejaculation, but also is a basis of study, is something called Interavaginal Ejaculation Latency Time, or I.E.L.T. for short.
This is defined by the first entry point into the vaginal region which begins intercourse, and actual intervaginal ejaculation. This was carried out as a global study amongst 491 males and their partners.
They also took into account the stimulation effects of using a condom and carefully monitored the results. What was shown was that lasting time decreased with age within the men who were used in the study.
On average, males between the ages of 18 and 30 lasted an average of 6 and a half minutes. Men from the ages of 31 to 50 years of age were able to last about 5.4 minutes, and men over the age of 50 were about to last about 4 minutes.
When the study was finished, it was concluded that ejaculation through intercourse lasted a little over 5 minutes when the median number was reached.
However, there were many things that left the study as being somewhat inconclusive, but a better understanding was presented through the research.
Although the numbers may not be spot on accurate, it does give us a decent understanding of average time between males who have been with a partner for a while. Its also important to note that the research that was carried out was done with heterosexual males only, and that presently there is no information that has been displayed on homosexual males and their partners.
What Are The Common Triggers That Effect Staying Power?
There are many substances and simple choices that can help with a better sex life and sexual stamina.
Alcohol, Nicotine and other substances such as certain narcotics can play a negative impact on ejaculatory response time and control.
SSRI's, also known as Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors are sometimes prescribed to help men who are having trouble with severe cases of PE.
This is because an SSRI is believed to help a physiological process that interacts with the Central Nervous System and plays a crucial part in the P.O.N.R. (Point of no return).
However, some men may find that this form of Serotonin works too well and can effect their ability to achieve erection.
Psychological processes also play a very huge and important role in how the ejaculatory muscles work. Anxiety and tension, particularly about the thought of not being able to last long in bed can actually amplify this process and make it much worse.
Natural Premature Ejaculation Treatment?
Natural premature ejaculation treatment is definitely an option to pursue. This involves educating yourself about how the muscles work that actually cause male ejaculation.
It also involves understanding more about hormonal balance, and knowing how to train yourself to push back the point of no return.
Through careful exercises, practice and partner participation, it is possible for many men to improve their stamina over a short period of time.
This is much like training for endurance, and getting your body and muscle memory used to the process of going longer before you actually desire to ejaculate.
This also involves proper breathing techniques, mind calming techniques, sometimes changing positions when stimulation becomes too intense, knowing what positions are the worst for trying to last longer, and other information.
What Is Delay Ejaculation?
Delay Ejaculation is just the opposite of premature ejaculation. This is when a man struggles to achieve orgasm or cannot at all. Generally, if a man who is experiencing delay ejaculation is able to eventually achieve an orgasm and cum, it is after many minutes of sexual stimulation.
There are many things that can factor in when considering this problem. Interestingly enough, many of the issues with this condition are similar to those that PE sufferers experience. Stress at work, anxiety or a deep, anxious feeling to please their partner can cause this problem as well.
Many men who struggle with delay ejaculation will find that the only way that they can get off is by masturbating. Men who commonly watch several hours of adult films throughout the week seem to struggle with this problem more than other males, though there is no scientific research at this time to suggest that as an exact cause.
However, what seems to happen is that when a man becomes too used to his grip, angle and pressure when masturbating, he has trouble feeling this, as stimulation through the vagina somehow can no longer recreate what he feels when pleasuring himself.
One possible suggestion is to partake in fewer adult entertainment videos or magazines, masturbate less, and when you do -- experiment with trying out different angles, a looser grip, and even strokes.
A natural balance of sleep, decompressing from stress, and a healthy dose of other distractions such as exercise and leisure can really help as well. Also be mindful of what you put into your body, drink lots of water, and familiarize yourself with vitamins that can help you balance a healthy lifestyle, work life, and down time.
